Reinforcements 1

Spent part of the weekend fixing up these bone-yard models to add to my collection

This one needed wheels, guns and tracks

The 251/1 now gives me two full companies of these, still some minor paint work to touch up as usual

Another carrier that needed wheels, I added some metal ones from my spares box

The two more-or-less complete carriers next to the donor model, which will be returned to the bone yard for future consideration.

These most gratefully received models were to sent me by John at http://miniaturezone.blogspot.co.nz/

M3

Finished this ages ago and had forgotten all about it. This was a bone-yard wreck in every sense and whilst it might look reasonable, it's actually very rough. Still, it is the only I have and it was resurrected and painted with my Pacific theatre collection in mind

No idea of its manufacturer

Decals from the spares bag, not authentic

More than a match for anything Japanese of the same era.

Progress

Multiple projects on the go as usual and here is one of them. I originally got these with my early WW2 BEF collection in mind but have since decided that they will remain Great War after all

They are nicely detailed figures in reasonable poses that I think most collectors will be happy with. My one complaint is with the plastic, although a vast improvement on earlier releases, which doesn't take paint very well at all, despite the figures being thoroughly washed and the paint mixed and at a good temperature, it just seemed to slip off. The above shows the figures after three coats of under-coat Vallejo British Uniform and a dark brown wash.

FW190D

Been working on this one off and on for the last three weeks or so - a new management role at work and an increased training schedule is not leaving me much time for kit making :( Still, here it is, my only late war German fighter...

Considered painting it as per the box art but found a later war scheme that I liked, and for once I had the actual colour required in my paintbox; in this case Luftwaffe Green

Several coats later, including a black/green wash mixed from citadel inks

As always the decals didn't quite go on hassle-free but I'm happy with the overall look

Just need a ME109 now and my WW2 German aircraft collection will be complete.

Tiger Revamp 2

Finally got around to repainting my other Tigers

The other company of these I have is the inaccurate Airfix kit and painted in grey http://www.20thcenturywargames.blogspot.co.nz/2011/10/tiger-revamp.html, these are by Hasegawa, except one which is from the tank magazine that was doing the rounds last year

This scheme makes them fit in with my other late war German AFVs. I have seven Tigers in my collection so far, which for CD3 equals two companies and a command platoon; a very formidable unit regardless of the opponent.

Matilda IIs

One of my all time favourites. The rear one I've had for ages, the other two are recent additions. Eventually I like to get another three of these as a lot of the early war scenarios I have require two companies. I've got one in the bone-yard but it is a long way off service yet

I think the size of the turret ring limited the size of the main gun, pity as these would have been devastating with a six pound gun during the Battle of France. These are by Airfix, I think.

Pz35t

Went with the standard 35t option on this one as the tank destroyer is a bit obscure

Not the best engineered kit but not the worst either, I think the detail and general basics would be on a par with Ace

The only one of these I have, any others are likely to be resin I'm thinking. Anyway, another addition to my early war collection

Box of Bits

A little present from a fellow poster http://www.miniaturezone.co.uk/

The Elefant completes my company of these and there are also a couple of transports and a Matilda II that will surely be repaired and see service. I really enjoy doing up bone yard hacks:) Thanks John.

Panzer Is'

Finished these the other night after training...

Very tidy little resin models by Frontline

This one I've had for many years, think it's Esci, command figure by Preiser. I touched it up a bit so that its paintwork looked similar to the new additions

Decals from the spares bag. Eventually, I'd like to have a second company of these. Great wargames kits this Frontline stuff, excellent value for money.

Haul Revamp

A bit of down time over the last few evenings has produced the following...

Airfix, a Matador and a Morris or is it Austin?

As always, still the usual touch-ups to finish. A bonus addition to my truck collection.
