Dave's Commonwealth

A few pictures of Dave's Commonwealth unit, which I think he has finally finished. The figures are HaT Canadians

Rifle Platoons

Rifle grenadier platoons, x1 per battalion from 1916 in CD terms

Company command platoons

Dave has spent some time adding extra details to his trench tiles

Don't know what his next project is yet, more pictures when he sends them

Latest Project

On the table are a number of German figures, primarily from my early war collection. In CD terms there is at least a division here, nine battalions

Trouble is of the six already complete only three are uniformed and equipped in early war style

Here are some new MMG platoons, figures are Matchbox and Airfix, both classic sets in my opinion

Here are three of the completed units that are a mess. When I started in this hobby I never really paid attention to uniform style, etc, so I've decided to redo the lot

Case in point, Revell 44-45 Panzergrenadiers in the same unit as the old Matchbox and Esci. The new unit will be at least two regiments of 1939-40 German Infantry.

1940 Moroccan Infantry

One of the more ambitious projects I've tried for a while. Decent pictures were had to find, so in the end I just went with a mixture of French figures with a few head swaps

The donor figures, notice the absence of cigarettes in the background :)

Esci, Revell, and Pegasus figures

First company

Airfix, Revell, Esci, Caesar figures

Second company

HQ, eventually I'll add another couple of companies for a full battalion. As far as tabletop representations go they're okay, but as usual better research and more donor figures would have produced better results.
The uniform colours are Vallejo French tank crew. All still have some minor touching up to do.
Thanks to Tim for the Esci French :)

Truck 3

Last one. From the Airfix AA gun set

Truck 2

Here's one of the other trucks I've been working on...

I think this one is by Esci. Not sure about the camo yet but otherwise it's complete

I kept it as a flat deck so it would take an AA gun, but usually it will just be a simple transport.

Truck 1

I've got three different trucks on the go at present. This is one of them, which was a donation from Paul

As can be seen it has previously suffered an identity crisis

Inspired by Paul's recent effort with his boat-carrier http://plasticwarriors.blogspot.co.nz/2012/07/airfix-thornycroft-pontoon-carrier.html I made this into a large flat-deck with similar purposes in mind

I should have completely stripped and repainted this but it is an improvement on what is was, and good enough for me. Next up, another Opel Blitz, which I hope to finish after training tonight.

Scots

Still a wee way to go on these but the basics are all done

The officer comes from the excellent Hat ANZACs as for some bizarre reason the set did not have one of its own

The wash I used is different from my usual choice of brown (Devlin Mud) and is a little glossy but a bit more final-stage fry brushing should fix this. Next up, a couple of trucks that have been on the go for a while :)
