Undercarriage

Actually, should read... world's worst undercarriage assembly ever!


Each one of these parts has had to be repaired owing to (serious) previous damage


Why Airfix had to make them this way instead of one-piece is totally beyond me? Having such an intricate assembly puts unnecessary stress on certain parts!

    H-P 400 is a very old molds.
    Maybe of 40-45 years.

  4. Maybe after this it is time to try some nice and cosy new moulds. Trust me after a couple of the thunderbolts it took me about 5 trucks and tanks to build a plane again!

    The bomb was very large, the model like a space rocket...

    1. Correct Maxi, many of the parts of this kit basically crumble to the touch, hence all the repairs I've made. The bomb, like you recall, is very sci fi looking

  6. "More parts is more good" I think. I've started to notice a lot of these older kits are far more complex than necessary for the results.
