x2 more SHQ Matildas, bringing my total of these to four
I filed off the closed hatch details and added my own, then mounted a figure (Matchbox) in the turret
Decals from the spares bag. I even went all out on this one and included the headlights and exhuast :)
In early war formations these were often mixed in with Matilda II companies and saw a lot of fighting during the Battle of France. Heavily armoured if not armed by the standards of the day; out of service by late 1940. One of my all time favourites.
Well done for getting the Matchbox commander (from the Humber a/c kit?) into the hatch in a convincing way. Never have much success in that myself, usually look as if they're Big Mac eating fatties who've got stuck.
ReplyDeletegood adding, i love the paint job!

Nice to see a Matilda I as most gamers only seem to get Matilda II's. Excellent paint job.
ReplyDeleteGood looking work mate. You are quite correct. The Matilda I rocks!
ReplyDeleteThe original and best(clanky tank?) Matilda IMHO
ReplyDeleteRoll on Arras
I have two Skytrex Matilda I's and an Esci Matilda II in BEF for my Arras era
Thanks team, still working on my early war stuff, been following your progress too Geordie
ReplyDeleteCheers
I agree with Styker about the Matilda marks I and II. Very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI like the Matilda, adding your own details seems an insane task. The matchbox figure came out great.
