Tracy got me this novelty ship a while ago, I've since altered it to fit in with the rest of the fleet
It is about 1/87 scale
The forward gun is a 75L12
Certainly more useful than it originally was :)
Wargaming with mostly 1/72 scale plastic miniatures
Nicely done, and your right a lot more useful!
ReplyDeleteImpressive work Al!
ReplyDeleteStunning work! Although I rather like the original model....
ReplyDeleteNow that looks the part Al!
ReplyDeleteNice work- looks moody in an all over grey scheme.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pete.
Thanks lads, nice feedback :) I like messing around with this sort of thing
ReplyDeleteBut not so colorfull as the original one. You did a great job on this conversion!

A pity in a way, though, because the original design was so novel with guns pointing in all directions. Was its purpose to sail into the middle of the enemy fleet and loose off in all directions hoping to hit something? It would have saved on target location, gun direction, hit observation etc freeing more men to work all those guns. What an original paint job too, no way that captain was going to hide in the mists , but then , being unable to aim he would need to attract targets. Love the guns in the ships sides too. Any sort of a swell and this is going to sink.
