German AA guns

A couple of additions to the light AA guns in my German collection

37mm by Hasegawa

Quad 20mm by Fujimi 

Both can be taken off their ground mounts and fitted to vehicles.

US 37mm anti-tank guns

Generous Jack sent me these a few weeks back...

I found them extremely fragile and difficult to put together accurately, resulting in a couple of gaps :(

Still, a most welcome addition as they are the only ones I have

Another 88mm

Painted early war style. Paul sent me this a while ago and I finished it this week in between other things currently on the go

Like all of my 88mm guns it is modeled in its firing position

No idea what happened to the company but this one is by Eidai, maybe more like 1/76 scale, not sure?

Schneider 155 Infantry Gun

 An item from the loot Paul sent me a while back, another scratch-built beauty by Gerard Davey - this gives me two of these Turns out this is a French piece...

The earlier versions like this one had wooden wheels and were often horse-drawn - true of the French army too

Pictured here beside another gun of similar caliber, a 150L11, which is a later model by Caesar.

New Guns

These French 25mm guns arrived with my package from Paul. They are scratch builds by the talented Gerard Davey

75L11 Japanese Mountain Gun

Excellent little infantry guns by Waterloo 1815, the design dates from 1898

A couple of pictures of the real deal. This one is at my local (sort of) RSL. We had a few going-away drinks there the other night, and I took these pictures to show you

This one was captured around the Milne Bay area of operations in 1942, and presented to the town in 1946 as part of a collection of field pieces from both wars. Several of the town's men fought in the Pacific theatre during WW2, hence the connection with this one.

This is a metal one, SHQ I think

Had this for ages and only just got around to tidying it up a bit. This one is by Hat

Bit of a size comparison, not much in them really

Many German formations had these at the battalion level throughout WW2, which also included mountain and airborne variants.

Revell 105s

These are from the most excellent Revell horse-drawn artillery 

I got these loose, along with a few other bits and pieces but never had the entire set, which I'm now on the lookout for

A lack of wheels for one of them meant I had to improvise with some spoked wheels from something a lot older; doesn't look too bad though

Each was shaded with thin black ink, then painted with Vallejo German Uniform and Highlight German Grey

I had just enough crew figures to man each piece. Might try and elevate the barrels a bit before inclusion in the scenario I'm working on.

Flak 88

I made this over the weekend from spare parts. I think it is by Airfix

I didn't have a spare shield so built it in the AA role

The scenario I'm working on has one of these in the OOB, attached to the AA group. Now I need to make a few more gun crew stands. It might be an old model but it is still a good one.

Zvezda 2lb

Detailed model this, quite a few parts but accurate and a nice finish

Modified infantry officer and one of the figures that comes with the kit

Gunners are posed separately because in CD rules  they can be driven away from their guns

The gun has had a second dark wash since I took this picture
