Jungle OP

Been moving into my new digs in the countryside, so this is about all I've had time for lately...

Its footprint will allow 3-4 stands hard cover

Started researching the Battle of Kohima 1944, so this will get used hopefully sooner than later.

Huts and things

Making Trees

The ever resourceful David Russell shows us how to make decent trees...

Double wire insert

Measuring the trunk

Cut twine is added to the wire

And spun tight using a drill

The tree is placed in a jar filled with glue and scenery flock

The end result

Practical and inventive as always.

NB ...no child labour was used in the construction of these items..... this time at least :)

Yet another Airfix resin building

Finished this late last night...

This is my second one of these, window frames, etc left out

These buildings have a very good size footprint in terms of tabletop space and ground scale

This one was a gift from Diana.

Asian Temple

From the wooden kit I started last month

Most gaps were filled and sanded back

Removable roof, although you can only place figures on the second level

Added minor detail with a marker.

Excellent little numbers by Frontline

The roof of each model is interchangeable. I'm happy these will suit multiple eras and theatres.

New Buildings

All my kit is still to arrive. But I got x5 colours from the local toy shop and here what I finished up with...

These two are Airfix. Far too expensive for what they are :(

20mm Jungle Hut

Another very good resin building by Frontline 

Good for any jungle scenery, any era

Accurate sized footprint and very good value for money.

Shelters

Just your average bog-standard garden shed variety shelter really...

These are one piece resin models by Frontline; actually, from their small range of Sealion items in 20mm

Simple but really tidy little models, about AUD$10.

The Italeri Well

Nice little piece this

Probably useful for multiple periods and theatres 

Just a little more painting around the rope work to do

Useful addition if you can get it cheap.

Every now and again Tracy gives me one of these...

This one is a windmill

Here are the others. They are about right for 25mm, I made each roof removable and added a floor to the flat-style building in the middle  

She gave this to me about five minutes ago :) More like 1/87. I might make templates from any future ones and modify them a bit more to suit needs. These are from China and are between AUD$4-6 each, often with free postage.
