Built and painted this over the weekend. Not one of their better kits I have to say, several parts were warped
Not too many parts and fairly simple instructions
The second of the Vellejo Russian Uniform colours 70924
Followed by a couple of coats of thinned black ink
I set the decals to the rear of the turret as I'm hoping to add some numbers when the rest of my modelling stuff eventually arrives from NZL; if I get another of these I'll try to manage a command figure for the turret
Dry-brushed and highlighted with just a touch of white
An okay model but not a great one. Probably the heaviest of my Russian armour, so far.
Nicely done Al. You have finished it very well. I must admit I have not even looked at Russian Armour as a source for modelling but some of those WW2 heavies are intriguing.
ReplyDeleteMate, do T35 or T28, either of those should keep you busy for a while
DeleteNice execution on this Al. One of the better examples of this oldie I have seen.
ReplyDeleteGood skills
You've made a nice job of a rather dodgy old kit.
ReplyDeleteThanks lads, I had no idea it was quite so old, I'm a bit more forgiving that I do
DeleteNot a great kit but you've made a superb job of it. When I was a kid (mid 60's) this was the only Russian Airfix tank kit available to fight along side my Airfix Russian infantry so I have fond memories of it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anything else to compare it with Ian but wouldn't mind another version; Airfix Russian Infantry, classic!
Deletesimple the model, better the outcome!
ReplyDeletegood finishing!
bye
Cool kit
ReplyDeleteWell done
I have two on the stocks that need painting green
I have no excuse now ;)
That's come out fine, with a nice, rough-cast finish to it. Not bad at all!
ReplyDeleteThanks boys
ReplyDeleteWarped or not that's turned out GOOD!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Al - love the weathering!
