Finished a few native infantry stands for a game we are researching

Figures by Esci and Ultima Ratio

Markers

I made a few markers to represent stuff on the tabletop

This group will be used to show where a dismounted cavalry unit has left its horses

These represent disorganised  parachute infantry. The figure on the left I can't identify Hugh et al

Esci figures - most manufactures had a drop canister included on the base 

Last one is an anti tank rifle platoon for my WW2 ANZAC collection.

Resistance figures

I got a mixture of loose figures by Caesar a while ago, and these were among them

CD3 does have the provision for this type of "unit" but they are quite rare in all but special scenarios

I'm sure I'll find a way to include them at some stage.

Gunner's Day Gunners

A couple of stands I finished this week

They will fit with multiple eras and theatres

Should be okay for several different nations too

figures are by Ykreol, Emhar and HaT.

Animal Transports

Touching up some of my limber and pack-horse stands

 Useful for all of my gaming interests, all eras

Venerable Aifix horses, these will never go out of style

These ones are work in progress.

Eliminated Platoons

In CD3, platoons can sustain certain amounts of casualties before being eliminated, as this RN shore party will now demonstrate

Elite, first hit Green. Very few units in CD have this rating, and they are usually battalion size formations or smaller

For most other units first hit is Yellow

Second hit Red causes immediate forced retreat for all units, under most circumstances. Units rated as 'Green' and 'Trained' are Red on their first hit

Eliminated, many gamers just lie the stand on its side or place a coloured ring over the entire stand

This stand represents the elimination of a whole company in one turn; doesn't happen that often, but can

Platoon size, two figures is the norm

These stands are for platoons or companies that have surrendered (Imex Korean War figures).

Airfix Rescue Launch - Refit

I bought this kit from a garage sale about ten years ago for $1. It was pretty much as you see it in the pictures below, until the other day when I started messing around with it. Here it is in its original form, but not the state I got it in!

 I got it to use as a small river boat for a scenario we played; set in 1919 when a large force of Bolsheviks attacked an Allied intervention force in Russia, and the gunboat was on the Red's OOB. The next two pictures show it as it was when I bought it

Start. Just the forward gun added at this stage, the previous owner had already added the small smoke stack at the rear

Initial colours

With crew and additional weaponry

Most of the crew figures are Airfix with head swaps from the Esci Spetsnaz figure set (all I had sailor head-gear wise)

Forward gun, probably a 3' or 4' variety - cut down Pak 40 barrel, gun shield is from an Attack version of an assault gun mounted on a Pz38t chassis, quite detailed

Rear gun is a 1lb or 2lb quick-fire - HaT gun with modified Pak 40 gun shield

Upper-mounted medium machinegun will provide modest antiaircraft capability - modified HaT Colt MMG with shield and belt-feed added

Still pretty rough in places but I had a lot of fun messing around with it. I tried to make it look as multinational as possible in terms of paint scheme, crew and weapons so that it wouldn't look too out of place in any conflict or era we wanted to use it in

This has featured in many, many games. Easily usable in conflicts from around the turn of the last century up until about the 1950s, though several minor nations maintained this sort of vessel in their navies for a lot longer.

Stretcher Bearers

A little project I've been messing around with over the last few nights. In CD3 terms they have no battlefield value whatsoever, and I made them just to add some little scenic additions really, just the usual touching up left to do

French (Esci)

German (Esci & Airfix with Matchbox heads)

British, still a bit to do on these (Airfix) 

Could easily be used in other conflicts too. I might try to make a Russian one if I find any more of these figures

Minor Nations Cavalry

Adaptions rather than conversions these, I put them together with my small Polish collection in mind, but have since decided that they will also do for French and possibly Dutch and Belgian as well.

All of the figures are from the HaT WW1 French artillery set.

This is the recon stand, all of the figures had things like ammunition pouches and rifles added, and the horses got saddle furniture from the bits box.

Next couple are of the commanding officer riding his magnificent black charger.

All of the figures and horses have had minor touching up since the pictures were taken

Don't know where the lances originate from but they don't look too bad, more bits box spares

For CD3 this represents a squadron of about ninety men and whilst they can be dismounted to fight as infantry they are most effective in the saddle where they have a high close-assault rating - against everything except tanks!

Not exactly in line with plane month, it's just what I've been working on in between wrestling with the Bulldog that I'm building - which is a mare.
