The last of my Airfix ruins. More buildings and imagination could make some really good looking built up areas

Scale is reasonable compared to the newer resin variety

This third building gives me a lot more options for the small table I currently have. CD can be a much better game when village foot-prints can be kept relative to the playing area.

Here it is beside the two I already have, the first complete company; eventually I'd like a full battalion (13)

Today marks the start of exactly 60 days of annual leave and I have plenty of projects lined up to help pass the time. Keep you posted.

Me262 Finished

I have, actually, enjoyed at least an hour and a half of hobby time over the last two weeks, and consequently, actually do, almost, have something to show you all.... soon :)

In the interim, however, here are some pictures of this old Heller Me262 that I found on my computer last night when looking for work related documents

I posted the start of this project about two years ago http://20thcenturywargames.blogspot.com.au/2010/08/me-262.html so it is kind of cool to finally be able to post the results of it

Two-seater, night-fighter version, without the radar array attached to the front

Crew figures would have been nice but didn't have any at the time

The decals were spares from my Me110, which was an old Revell kit. This was painted with Tamiya colours as I hadn't started using Vallejo at this stage

This model has had at least one game that I can think of, in the ground attack role. These were operational by mid 1944 and served with quite reasonable success until the end of the war, claiming over 300 victories; depending on which source you read.

Another Airfix Building

Okay, so work is officially now sucking my will to live! Massive week in the trenches of youth education, read, corrective training, hence the lack of posts. Anyway...

The second resin building got more or less the same treatment as the first. They are quite cool to paint, as far a buildings go, and have a very reasonable level of detail on them

Also came with brass window frames

You can never have enough decent scenery to chose from when it comes to building a map, and these will certainly fit in well on the tabletop. As I've said before, the only real drawback with these is the price. One more ruined building to finish, which I might do this weekend whilst catching up on some test cricket

This is a very tidy kitset by Dragon, who make some unusual models that are very well engineered and detailed

The indomitable Airfix Buffalo; actually have a trio of these myself, as yet unmade, and currently on a cargo ship somewhere between here and New Zealand, so they might be in the build queue just a little bit longer.

Lovely wee kit this, shame the engineering was not quite up to scratch though :(

Should have painted it 'on sprue' but started dry fitting parts and before I realized it was complete 

As you can see the door frames do not line up well with the rest of it

Likewise with the canopy, leaving quite a gap

Still, an excellent addition to my British collection, these served in all theatres of WW2 from start to finish.

A combination of the left over figures from the various Zevezda infantry sets and a couple of Airfix ones as well

Have almost completed two battalions now and have finished the regimental assets of machinegun, engineer and mortar platoons
