A few pictures of a little project I've had on the go for a while...

Airfix bike with Airfix sidecar, slightly modified with green-stuff. This is the machinegun platoon

Still some minor paintwork to touch-up but they are pretty much ready for the tabletop. Just started working on a command stand.

Flak 88

I made this over the weekend from spare parts. I think it is by Airfix

I didn't have a spare shield so built it in the AA role

The scenario I'm working on has one of these in the OOB, attached to the AA group. Now I need to make a few more gun crew stands. It might be an old model but it is still a good one.

Horch Transports

I think these are by Dragon Models

Very highly detailed models and well constructed 

Both have been removed from their bases and had minor paintwork touch-ups but they are otherwise as I got them. Thanks G.

I got these aircraft a while ago, not sure what I'll do with the Dragonfly; don't really have anything else in this era, I think I might have picked it out for someone else

Our weekly trip to the post office was an unexpected bonus, I'd totally forgotten about these Armourfast additions - excellent!

Progress

Progress on my inaugural-cave-christening game has stalled a bit. Once I started putting the Allied OOB together I quickly realised I was short on a lot more kit than I first thought :( 

Here is the beginning of the Allied forces, short on transport, anti tank guns and gunners, and that's after bath-tubbing!

The beginning of the German line up, still another panzer battalion to add

Bit and pieces I'm working on, M/C side car combo for my BEF, Pak37 (thanks Col!) and some Airfix gunners - there not really being much else available in terms of British gun crew figures :(

Another Matilda II and some repairs I need to make on stuff like bikes.

Here is a map for an historical scenario I've been wanting to do for a long time, just a couple of minor scenic additions to place, then to the OOBs - stay tuned :)

Unpacking

Just the usual minor damage to fix up, broken machine guns, etc

Several of my aircraft needed quite extensive repairs, however

But the 0400 came through unscathed, joy! Should have some decent progress on projects to show you soon.

New Table

Here is my new table. It was the crate my bike was shipped over in, it has now traveled 5000km. Set on trestle tables and clamped together. The joins were then filled and the whole thing sanded 

Have kept it a flat top style but am also considering using the drop-cloth method when doing scenarios with a lot of hill features

In CD3 terms I have a frontage of 7500 x 5200 yards

Demo layout with an early war map but I need to make a lot more road and river sections.

New Digs

So. We found a place to live. House, garages, stables, dressage arena, etc, etc...

Airfix Hannover

Out of storage for a little touch-up

I've had this kit a long time, it is one of my favourite WW1 aircraft

I've got another one of these to put together, and a WW1 game scenario set in 1918 where the Germans get x2 to use in a ground attack role, keep you posted on that one - thought I might attempt the harlequin paint scheme that some of these had too

However, just accepted a short term contract near Townsville so all of my projects and plans will have to wait a little while. Show you some pictures of my new man-cave once I've found one.
