Project Pictures

Owing to recent reinforcement from down south, a long term project has gained new life.

Anyway, the progress...

Mortar platoons

Command sections

Flamethrower engineer platoon

MMG stand

PIAT

Rifle platoons, a few minor alterations but nothing drastic.

I still have to fill gaps and add some more weapon slings.

7.58 cm Minenwerfer

This little beauty came to me via Dave M. These things had a rate-of-fire of about six rounds per minute, with a range of 1300 meters

Unusual style of painting, most effective. There are almost enough figures to complete a 1918 infantry battalion, but I need to base them

Absolute gem! Figures by Emhar.

Dave's Project

Some pictures of a project Dave is working on, Stalingrad

Nice good pictures of the scenery he is building from LINKA

And some pretty imaginative use of spare figures!

Nice one Dave.

NITTO Stug IIIg

Been working on this all week
Did I say Fujimi? I meant NITTO - thanks lads :)

I made it up as un-buttoned. I have another of these, so this will represent the command platoon

Crew figures from the spares box

This is quite a detailed little kit for its age, well engineered

Pictured beside a Stug IIIb by Dragon

Basically the same assault gun, slightly improved, only a couple of hundred were manufactured before it was again improved, eventually becoming the very successful Stug IIIg.

1943-45 Fallscrimjager (Italeri)

This is the second battalion of my work in progress later-war regiment, again I had to use a few metals to make up the numbers

The Italeri figures are quite large and don't mix too well with others, nice figures though

Some para units had recoilless infantry guns, which I don't have any of, so here is the gun platoon beside a HaT model. I think RAFM do a 105 in 20mm

I might have just enough figures left over for the rifle platoons in the (planned) third battalion, but may have to go with metals again for the machinegun platoons, as shown above.

Stuart M3 Company

Continuing with paint upgrades to various AFVs in my collection

This is my only M3 company in their original scheme

And, after some ink and minor touch-ups. I need a figure for the command vehicle, might have to convert something

A very successful light tank, with over 20,000 produced.

These are by Hasegawa.

1943-45 Fallscrimjager (Caesar)

Here is one of my recently completed later-war German parachute infantry battalions

The support company still needs a gun crew stand

I had to use a few metal figures to make up the numbers

Unfortunately, there is a huge difference in the size of figures, the smallest being Airfix, medium being Caesar, and large Italeri

The Caesar figures are good but not quite a nice as the Italeri set in terms of detail

Nowhere near enough figures left to complete a regiment but quite a good start :)

One more Sherman

Easily the best of my Sherman collection, this recent addition was sent to me by Dave M

The tidy paintwork and detailing leaves my other Shermans with a bit to be desired

The painting of the tracks is very cool

Here it is with the rest of my Sherman 75s. Eight others of various manufacture, of which I had only two to begin with - all the others have come from donations; via Messrs Foster & Gow, thanks lads :)

I'll have a battalion of these one day!
