Gloster Gladiator

Had this in the stash for a while, a very simple little kit set of about two dozen parts

Made just a little more difficult by adding basic rigging

The paint scheme is one I copied from the internet, European theatre 1939-40

Exported to over twenty countries. I'm definitely going to get another one of these and paint it up so that it will fit in with several countries from my Minor Nations collection

The decals are from a Hurricane or Spitfire

I may yet paint the rigging, we'll see.

  1. Pretty work, nicely colors

Yes, the machine was very popular, many small countries.
Also, the Hawker Hart (star-engine model) and Bristol Bulldog machines
The Soviet Union captured the Estonia and Lithuania machines, and uses.

  2. I'm jealous. I always wanted an excuse to get and build a couple of these. Good job, Al. Looking forward to seeing your next one too.

  3. Nice model Al! Of course you could buy another two and call them "Belief, Aspiration and Goodwill" or something along those lines!

  4. Nice work Al. That framing on, well, the canopy frames, looks great. Very "Pop", if you understand my meaning.

Always like the Gladiator. Good stuff.

  6. Nice one. Will it sit in a game at an airfield, or actually provide air cover?
