More Early Stuff

First a picture of two of my favourite early war aircraft, the Defiant usually provides 'top-cover' for the Battle

I only have a couple of these but they are great little models, the heavily armoured (but not armed) Matilda I. This one is from SHQ, I think; I only buy
stuff in resin or metal if it is not available in plastic.

  1. Fairey Battles are awesome, the Advanced Air Stiking Force was lucky to have such hi tech assets in their ORBAT!
Little known fact and quite a laugh; The RAF's first aerial victory of the war was a Me109 shot down by a rear gunner in a Battle. That Hun must have been embarrassed.
Was the Defiant the notorious Airfix kit, I had alot of trouble with that kit when I was 11 or 12.

  2. Yeah, the Defiant was an Airfix kit, not the greatest model, but then I'm not the greatest modeller either, seems we ended up somewhere in the middle with this one.

    Cheers
