x3 per battalion

The official issue rate of the Thompson sub machine gun 1939-1940

This is one of the company command stands for my planned forth battalion of my BEF collection

As with most previous additions to this collection, figures by Zvezda.

PSC A9 Cruisers

My latest early war additions. I now have five of this variant  and a couple of A10s

Didn't have much of a choice with decals, these are about the best I could find

These are excellent models. Will definitely be getting some more :)

Another Matilda II

Airfix kit without the hedgehog mortar

Needed a bit of bogging here and there with green-stuff, not a great kit this one, maybe the mold is not so good anymore?

All but one of my Matilda II models are Airfix

This one rounds off two full companies, so was done up as a command platoon. My decal collection sucks, so I had to make do with anything I could find that looked about right. Still, a welcome addition.

Last Matilda I

These are great little models by SHQ x6 parts total

It's a bit more common to find these in mixed Matilda I & II companies rather than full sized stand-alone units

Here it is grouped with my other Matilda Is, eventually I'd like to get two more of these, giving me two companies worth

British Scout Carrier

A couple of early war carriers I've been working on over the last week or so...

This one has had crew added to designate it as a command platoon

Not one of my better crew conversions but I am running low on various spare parts, especially the very useful Matchbox British

These are nice little resin model by Frontline.

Command Matilda I

x2 more SHQ Matildas, bringing my total of these to four

I filed off the closed hatch details and added my own, then mounted a figure (Matchbox) in the turret

Decals from the spares bag. I even went all out on this one and included the headlights and exhuast :)

In early war formations these were often mixed in with Matilda II companies and saw a lot of fighting during the Battle of France. Heavily armoured if not armed by the standards of the day; out of service by late 1940. One of my all time favourites.

1939-40 British Infantry Brigade

As with all my stuff, based for CD3. This is my British Expeditionary Force collection and has been about a year in the making. I now have three complete infantry battalions and just need to add other units, such as recon and bridging engineers; just for the sake of it really. Comprised almost entirely of the most excellent Zvezda figures, which I have tried to arrange in as many poses as I could for the sake of variety

First Battalion

Second

Third

Some examples of the different poses I was able to achieve doing the monster-mash and seeing what I could come up with

Every other figure had a sling added where I could

Esci arms added to the figure on the right

Another Bren team

Airfix arms + green-stuff

Battalion commander sections, middle one is Airfix

Company command sections, Aifix, Zvezda, Esci

Brigade command section

MMG platoons

Mortar platoons

Engineers

The Brigade.
