Great War French

Still working on my truck but got these to the touch-up stage the other night. Mostly Pegasus figures but there are a couple of Airfix and Revell in the mix too

Company command platoons

Battalion HQ, command section and LMG and MMG platoons

A few of the line platoons

The blue is a bit bright for my liking and I might try and tone this down a bit over the holidays. Anyway, a bit of progress of my own to show you :)

Progress, but not mine

I'm working long hours and last week I got my face busted up at Jiu Jitsu, including a broken nose, when two other grapplers' landed on top of me by accident :(  Luckily, Dave has been busy on his Commonwealth unit...

All HaT figures

His usual tidy work, rifle platoons

Rifle grenadiers

Command platoons

I've got a truck I've been working on and will try and finish that to show you soon

Reinforcement 3

Not a lot of time for myself lately but managed to finish off this last night

It was already under-coated, all I had to do was tidy it up a bit

The two of these make up an under-strength company, which was very common later in the war

I may yet add a command figure to the turret hatch, otherwise it's complete. I think this one is by Esci.

Dave's Workbench 2

Here you are, a bit of progress on Dave's Commonwealth regiment 1916-18...

Command infantry platoons (company level)

These are at the basing stage

Apparently, Dave couldn't make it to work because of all of the snow on the roads:)

He's clearly made good use of his time off

Gerard's Para

A few pictures of some of Gerard's collection...

The Jeeps have had extra kit added and crew figures modified to suit

Airfix 6pdr with crew

Esci figures, well painted and based

Revell figures, shame about the light in the photos because they don't show the detail - Gerard has painted these really well

Some more progress from Dave in a day or so, amazing what a bit of publicity can do for one's motivation eh Dave?

Panzer IIs

Still plodding away with multiple projects but recently finished these to show you all

The first two pictures show the early war PzII. These models are resin ones by Frontline - quite reasonable detail and very good value for money

The command tank is the original (and only) one I had in my collection until recently, it is by Matchbox; as you can see it is a later model version

The complete company

Reinforcements 2

Recent additions from the talents of Gerard Davey

I now have enough French vehicles to mount a battalion sized unit

Absolutely bonus transport.

Dave's Work Bench

A few pictures of Dave's work in progress for his Commonwealth unit. These are trench mortar, light and medium machine gun platoons

All HaT figures

Good to see a bit of progress on these because I know Dave has had them on the go for a while now

Their OOB will match most Commonwealth units on the Western Front 1916-18, so quite a versatile unit.

As an aside... I have an historical scenario (somewhere) where a Canadian rifle company was attacked by Bolshevik forces (not sure where) after the armistice was signed in Europe. Pretty sure there was gunboat and a village too but can't remember the name of the action. Anyway, I'll try to find it but if you know anything let me know.
