New Cruiser

Had some time earlier this week to put together one of the latest additions to my early war collection

Base coated and washed on sprue

Clear, simple instructions giving two options: 'buttoned' or 'unbuttoned'

A few brass parts, a couple of which I actually used :)

The whole kit went together in about ten minutes

Extremely well engineered, no flash

Nice to have the correct markings for a change, the kit comes with several options

Here it is between my only other cruisers (SHQ) for comparison

This last picture is of the memorial to the fallen at Rainbow Beach, where I have just spent the last four days on retreat with other veterans from my course.

  1. A neat looking kit, reasonably sharp mouldings. I've only got the slightly later versions (with the additional turret armour) for the Western Desert made by Frontline Wargames. Much more a wargame bit of kit than this.

  2. Great job on the A13 Al. One of my favourite cruiser tanks. I scratchbuilt two of these a while ago and will post soon. For some reason however I painted mine in Desert Sand rather than Bronze Green. Must have had a bit of a moment! See you were up my way the other day. At least you had good weather.

  8. Nice work on this one. The early war stuff has a charm of its own. Saw several of the later N Africa models in a Bolt Action game at GenCon last week.
