Plane Progress, and a few good reads

Looking to build some Great War aircraft over the holidays, and here is some progress on a couple I have on the go...

This is a Revell kit, reasonable to work with but has the odd issues with wing spars lining up

Still a wee way to go, here it is in front of the wing assembly I am using for my 0-400 build

Read this over the last couple of weeks....fascinating!

Tracy got me these

Ash got me these, nice to have the latest edition of Sugden's work as he is the undisputed master of literature on the Ripper. These bring my collection of writings on the Ripper case to forty titles.

Phil's Jeep

More of my neighbour Phil's handywork. Actually part of a diorama work in progress

1/35 scale, by Tamiya

This one is depicted in RAF service as it is part of the theme for the diorama he is building; more on that in a day or so...

Games Days

Got together with some friends and my daughter over the weekend for a massive games session. Here are some pictures of the various games we played over the two day event...

First up, a few quick games of this, basically building a villa

Next, a few games of X-Wing, I even busted out my Star Wars T-shirts for the occasion

As always, Yoda gets the final say. I wore this to work a couple of times, apart from it being non-uniform my boss thought it insensitive to our students

Three or four games of Last Night on Earth

Just one or two of this one

Six or seven hours of this one

Some of Shane's figures for his Zombicide game

Taking Ash to the airport, Sea World, etc. Have a good one gang, back in a few days.

Merry Christmas, please spare a thought for those serving away from family at this time. Cheers.

Al.

Two more dicasts'

Two more recently completed additions to my cold war era collection, both by Matchbox

This radio trucks dates from the early 80s'. I'd like to change the wheels on it at some stage

Another 1968 Landcruiser, just one more of these to finish - still on the lookout for some Landrovers

May or may not see a lot of game time, we'll see. Still, always good to have a few of these generic type transports available.

Phil's B17

Here is a few pictures of my neighbour Phil's B17.

1/72 scale this one

Phil is an ex infantryman who makes the odd kitset and plays the occasional wargame

By his own admission, this has still a little to be done to finish it completely

Show you some more of his work later in the month.

Bedford light truck

Another addition from the Airfix Bomber Resupply kit

Not a big fan of these 'glass doors'

I cut the observers hatch out with the intention of mounting a Bren Gun on the roof, but it did not look right

A little crooked in places but a better model than the utility van

Some small decals from the selection that comes with the kit. All in all, another nice little addition to my British collection.

The Observer

Started to make a bit of progress with my 0/400, and here is the observer

Still some work to do on him

Several of the parts have already been glued and there are a couple of minor ones missing; including the other crew figures :( but will see how we go

Might be slow progress this one. Keep you posted :)
