NBC Soviets

Being unable to obtain either the Airfix or Esci Russian Cold War sets or in fact any figures matching that description this is what I have resorted to...
Most of them aren't Soviet at all and the weapons platoon features a former member of the Viet Cong and some sort of aircraft mechanic, but in the end I managed a full company... of sorts

Still a wee way to go on the paint work but the basics are all done. If anyone's got any bright ideas I'm all ears!

  1. Airfix Modern RAF Groundcrew has Brits in NBC from the 70's.

I thought you were going to cut the heads off and replace them.

My worries are growing on how you are going to field these evil little men!

    Great looking work, well done.

  2. They're brilliant! Nothing quite as spooky as a foreign grunt in NBC gear breathing down their respirators at you...

You seem to imply that they are conversions. Is that right?

  4. Looks good to me. What figures are they? I assume that you'll be opening your assault with a gas bombardment?

  8. Nice one mate.A hell of a lot of great conversions.Elhiem miniatures do Russian NBC figures if it helps, a bit after the horse has bolted and all that. They used to do heads in gas masks for conversions but they are off there list now.

  9. They look ok...a bit of a lighter green dry brushing would bring the out a lot more and for the "glass" in the respirators...try very dark blue with a tiny bit of silver mixed in
    Cheers

I don't think you need any help in that respect. The conversions in themselves are a really bright idea.

I might end up copying these conversions of yours at some point in the future when I get around to it. Superb stuff.
