The Loader

Here are a couple of pictures of the loader I made for my recently completed mortar platoons

SLR removed

One arm removed the other separated from body

Head twisted to new angle

Yet to find a glue better than this for converting figures in this scale

Attached

The arm here is from the pointing gun-layer in the Airfix 6lbs set, but any arm will do, it doesn't have to be pointing

Arms holding mortar bombs are from Matchbox figures, but, again, any arm will do

Used the ACTA GPMG gunner for the loader on this one.

Just for me old mate Paul; Soviets arrived this morning :)

  1. Cheers mate, I cut up that very same pose yesterday in order to bodge a gunner.

I hope the men were all in good order.

  2. Good conversion.

Our of interest, are these new Revell re-releases in a stiffer plastic than the old Matchbox originals ?

    Cheers,

    John

    1. Yes, ever so slightly more, but not as hard as the newer Italeri types. The flash is worse than the orginals, which is a little hard to fathom from Revell.

  4. Nice conversion. Always good to have some mortars in support.
